The OISC is responsible for all UK immigration consultants who are registered (remember if the person/company who is dealing with your visa application aren't - be careful. If you can find someone who is, or contact the OISC for further help).
They deal with all complaints towards registered consultants and are trying to eliminate the 'cowboys' who abuse the the people they are supposedly trying to help.

I have headr through the grapevine that the OISC is starting to really crackdown on the way registered and non-registered consultants do their advertising. Beware of people/companies offering you the chance of a successful visa if you take out other services with them (like tax or a limited company)!

Nothing is for free they always claw it back somewhere!

You can do a search for your adviser on the OISC adviser finder service (even if they say they are look them up first just to be safe).
